Harbor ("we", "our", or "the app") is operated by BookVitals APP SRL. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Harbor mobile application.
Account Information: The app uses anonymous authentication. We assign a random user identifier. If you optionally provide your name during onboarding, it is stored with your profile. No email, phone number, or social login is required.
User Content: We collect chat messages you send to your AI mentor, check-in responses (mood, cravings, triggers), journal reflections, and journey progress data. This information is stored in Firebase Firestore and is linked to your anonymous account.
Device Information: We collect your device's push notification token (for reminders and mentor check-ins) and timezone (for scheduling notifications at appropriate times).
Harbor uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to power mentor conversations. When you use the chat feature, the following data is transmitted to Anthropic's servers via a secure Cloud Function proxy:
Before any data is sent, the app displays a consent screen explaining what data is shared and with whom. You must explicitly agree before the chat feature becomes available.
Anthropic does not use your data to train AI models. You can review and revoke your consent for AI data sharing at any time in the app's Settings under "AI Data Sharing." If you revoke consent, the chat feature will be unavailable.
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with security rules that ensure you can only access your own data. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS). Chat messages are processed through a secure Cloud Function proxy -- your device never communicates directly with Anthropic.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you sign out, your anonymous account data remains stored. You can request data deletion by contacting us at the email below.
Harbor is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on this page with an updated effective date.
